Comments
Comments: I am not a fan of road walks, but the 2.2 mi. walk into the trailhead from the gate was easy and very scenic. Lots to look at and check out along the way. Took me about an hour each way. Walked in part of the way with a fly fishing guide who was heading down into the gorge.

The hiking trail was mostly dry and offers a surprisingly stiff climb for a low ridge -- felt like more than 900 ft. of gain. At the end of the trail I followed a herd path that was mere yards long to the high point of East Peak. On the return trip I did the very short bushwhack to West Peak. Neither summit is recognized. Noted some sort of forestry something happening on West Peak -- lots of little red flags.

First time here and would love to revisit this in the fall. Looks like amazing foliage viewing potential from all of the great ridgecrest outlooks.
