A FINE day in the forest! This idea has been on my shortlist of adventures and today was the day! Went into Jobildunk to explore the beaver meadows and head wall of the ravine. I thought about trying it for a second or two, hehe. I had the benefit of it being summer and had better luck than timbercamp's earlier trip report of finding the Asquamchumauke Trail (Crooked waters from high places. I did not find much luck getting through the upper beaver meadow near the floor of the ravine on the easterly side so I backtracked into better wood and rode the contour just below the meadow. It worked. I found the old trail on my way out (i looped around the meadow). Trails are in great shape. Found a ton of chaga too. A fine day off trail for sure. "you are lost" (but making great time) :) |
