Comments
Comments: We were there for the hike, but signed permits anyway (and they're FREE) in case we felt like digging (you are allowed to collect here, check out the rules if interested). flat walk through a beautiful mixed forest to the mineral site. Trail then descends in several switch backs to the forest road. I would recommend descending the forest road, it puts you in a position to ascend the falls trail and waterfalls always look better on the way up, not down. Cannot really get a good unobstructed view from below, trees are in the way. Near the top is a little better, it reminded me of Thoreau in this sense. When you come out of the woods you descend the forest road back to where the mineral site trail picks up. It seemed shorter than what the map showed. This would be a good one for kids, just remind them to watch out for the bikes!
