Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I was the second vehicle in the Diana's Baths/Trailhead parking lot when I arrived at 7:30 am, with it being about 75% filled in the early afternoon.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All were easy rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in very good condition. A couple more blazes or cairns in the ledgy section of the Red Ridge Trail would be helpful. There were a couple spots where I had to guess where the main trail went.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: There could be a couple ledgy sections on the Moat Mountain Trail between the Red Ridge Trail intersection and North Moat summit where dogs may need require assistance. Other than that, the trail was fine for dogs whose pads are used to hiking rocky trails.
Bugs
Bugs: One gnat or black fly.

Comments
Comments: This was a challenging and very rewarding loop. Started up the Moat Mountain Trail and then took the left up the Red Ridge Trail and then a right on the Moat Mountain Trail up to the summit and then down to the parking lot. Lots of views (although Presis were in the clouds) and lots of rocks. I did the loop clockwise, which may be a bit easier, but either way would work, assuming dry ledges. All trails were in good shape. One thing I wanted to mention to anyone as clueless as me: I missed the sharp left turn on the Red Ridge Trail, which takes you to a stream crossing and then up on the ridge. That was my fault, as there was a yellow arrow showing the turn. I was only off trail a few minutes before I realized my mistake.
