| Comments: |
We did a traverse from the Imp Trail (southern section) to the Wild River Campground. Imp and North Carter Trails are in fine shape, just a slow steady climb of 3200 ft. Nice views from North Carter. The top section of the Carter Moriah Trail has several steep sections. We went slow. The Imp Shelter was preparing for a helicopter drop of supplies to repair the shelter. The top part of the Moriah Brook trail has several sections of deep mud. Near the beaver dam we lost the trail and crossed the river but could not find the trail so we recrossed and found it again. We saw 1 person on the North Carter Trail, 4 thru hikers on the Carter Moriah Trail, and 3 people on the Moriah Brook Trail. Time: 8 hrs. |
