| Water Crossing Notes: |
Minor. Two hop wonder, but there are lovely stepping stones. Crossing the mud puddles is more thought provoking. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail is in fantastic shape. The SPNHF does good work here, that's for sure. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
One lovely, and very happy and enthusiastic great dane. Couldn't hold his licker for love or money, and his swisher was moving back and forth at supersonic speed. I swear, his little doggy heart was so full of joy that it just might burst. Good times. |

| Bugs: |
None to speak of. Wow, that was quite nice. |

The Forest Society is having their 5 Hikes Challenge, which for me is a chance to get off my usual beaten track. Some fine hiking is there to be found all over the state. Gap Mountain, one of the five hikes, has easy grades, and a fantastic view of the southwest side of Mt Monadnock, and all that with an easy drive and without the crowds. Bring a picnic lunch, there's a fine spot up top to sit and listen to the wind for a spell. |
