| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked off the road and adjacent to the gatehouse. There was not an obvious parking area. Signs posted on the road indicate no parking and towing enforced, and the gatehouse has a sign that prohibits vehicle traffic beyond the gate. Hence, parking adjacent to the gatehouse.
I was the only car when I arrived and only car when I departed.
The trailhead is at the end of the service road at the other end of the camp facility. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Easy to rock hop a few crossings. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Overall, the trail is easy to follow and well marked with yellow blazes. This is a lightly trafficked trail, although I imagine it gets used heavily by the campers when the camp is open.
There were several blowdowns that required stepping over or under. Nothing too challenging.
Some parts of the trail also have running water and forms a stream bed. Again, nothing too challenging with the current flow rate. This would be more challenging at times with higher flow rates. |

This is a really nice peak and trail that I picked to avoid any crowds. The summit has a rock outcrop with 180 degree views including Moosilauke and few peaks of the white mountains. It's a beautiful spot. It was 4 miles out & back and it took me less than 3 hours (including lingering at the top for the views).
Fall colors are beginning! I post a pic at the link below. |
