Comments: A FINE day was had in and above the forest today. Despite what seemed like conga line that awaited us, that was not too bad. Trails in great shape. Unfortunately, people forget that just because your dog is 'friendly' (and non leashed) - others aren't - and don't want them in their bubble (that's why they are on a leash). We were at the abandoned junction of Gorge right at this incident and deemed it better to take the dogs down it to calm down. This worked and also enabled us to leap frog the huge bubble of people. Lovely views all day - until we hit them the summit. Then they became otherworldly. Looking West was a unreal undercast framing Clough, Jeffers and Sugarloaf in their colorful glory. Truly spectacular. We lingered on the summit with about a dozen others. We contimplated going down Asquam but the undercast was too tempting, so we went over to South Peak for a different view. Lovely views of the Conneticut River, Long Pond and Lakes Tarelton and Armington. We went down Snapper and discussed going down the abandoned version of Snapper, but no one was around, so we stuck to the trail. Snapper is such a lovely trail. We only saw 2 people from Glencliff junction to the car. For the THIRD day in a row - i spooked a moose at my car who was downslope and caught a glimpse of as I was throwing my crap in the boot of my car. The slow drip continues...
