Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: If you’re planning to head up the Mt. Clinton Trail, the crossing looks doable despite the high water, but expect to get your feet wet. We didn’t do it, but we took a look. The crossings on the Dry River trail itself were easy rock hops (plus the suspension bridge).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Two big blowdowns in the first half-mile. About a mile or so in (maybe slightly less) look carefully for a cairn on the left just before a big blowdown. This marks the actual trail (and will save you a headache). See notes below.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Not sure our dog was a big fan of this one. Twelve miles on a very rugged trail was, perhaps, not her favorite thing. Saw no other dogs (and virtually no other humans until near the end).
Bugs
Bugs: The only bug I saw was inside our car on the ride home.

Comments
Comments: The Dry River … isn’t. Water’s very high right now, which isn’t really an issue below the falls, but it sure is noisy with all that water. If you are familiar with the trail or you have good trail instincts, it’s not hard to follow. Otherwise, make sure you have a map, compass, and GPS (AllTrails or Gaia are helpful). People have put cairns in a few spots to help, but since it’s in a wilderness zone, it’s not blazed.
