Surface Conditions: Wet Trail

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: For Potash—Downes Brook is a very wide crossing. Water was over the toes of my boots but the rocks weren’t slippery. Everyone i asked crossed the brook. No one used the woods road as an alternate route
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Both peaks were well signed. UNH trail for Hedgehog—-from the intersection of Allen’s ledge spur to the summit has very faded yellow blazes. They get brighter as you approach the intersection coming down from the summit. I found myself stopping and looking around a few times looking for these faded blazes. I bet the trail would have been more evident if it hadn’t been covered with freshly blown leaves.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Hank Williams appreciated all the attention and pats. We saw about 16 hikers on each route.

Comments
Comments: Hedgehog was a super hike with so many views! Potash rounded out the day for a full hiking Sunday. These 2 can very easily be combined.
