Overall good trail conditions. The leaves and moisture are making things slick at lower elevations.Super amount of mud, potentially knee deep in places, on the Davis Path between the Isolation Trail and Mount Isolation.
Took the Iso Express bushwhack directly from Davis Path to the Rocky Branch Trail. Hit the trail in the general vicinity of the Engine Hill Bushwhack. Stepped across the trail and bushwhacked to the Rocky Branch Trail just before it crosses the Wilderness boundary. Really pleasant open forest. The birch glades are awesome. With many of the leaves gone, nice views opened up over to Engine Hill and beyond. Easy to pick out Stairs Mountain on Montalban Ridge. |
