 | Comments: |
A delightful day for a redline and NH500 highest combo on the Squam Range doing a southbound traverse of the Crawford-Ridgepole Tr. Trails are in great condition but nary a canister was found today sadly despite visiting several highpoint candidates. Use your judgement for routes whacking to the highpoints but there are some decently obvious lines that appear to have seen some previous action. Woods are moderately open with Doublehead NE Peak a short easy whack, Sawtooth aka the high point of the Squam Range is a moderately difficult whack due to some steep rocky terrain, annoying blowdowns, and thick conifers both of these are about 0.1 miles off trail. Mt Webster is a moderately diffiicult whack due to several candidates for the actual highpoint with the southern most point being the true highpoint. Mostly open woods but cliff bands to the south so angle NW off the summit, less than 0.25 miles off trail. |
