Comments
Comments: This was a full west to east traverse of Red Hill with two good friends who I hadn't hiked with since the before times.

Aside from a few very tiny ice patches headed up to Eagle Cliff, this entire route was dry and snow-free. I carried old spikes but never needed them.

There is signage on the fire tower which is confusing and contradictory -- one sign says the tower is closed for winter and another says use caution when climbing it. A chain also suggests no public access. I know spikes aren't permitted on the tower steps so perhaps that's what this means but it could be clearer.

Shortly past the old cabin on Cabin Trail, we hopped onto the snowmobile trail which took us up toward Red Hill's South Peak. From there it was a short and very easy bushwhack to the recognized high point.

Despite the prior reputation of Sheridan Woods Trail and Scenic Trail as being overgrown and hard to follow, they were completely clear wide woods roads. The viewpoints on each trail are very overgrown though.

We started the hike in a snow shower but by the time we reached the fire tower the sun was out.
