Water Crossing Notes: Little ones, easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Great signs. Blazing is good. A few blow downs, no trouble. Thanks!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Much of this land is privately owned with a conservation easement. So don't let dogs roam (this time of year you especially don't want them on the loose). Although there are tiny streams and wet areas, there may not be enough for your dog when it is dry; so plan wisely.
Bugs
Bugs: Prema saw a moth.

Comments
Comments: Plymouth Mtn on Thanksgiving, hahaha... Didn't even realize I did that until I got home. A question: this place is north of the Squam region; so why is this hike in the Southern NH Guide while the Squam trails are in the White Mountain Guide? Just wondering....

This is a great one for those times where you don't have the whole day. There is a good amount of elevation gain, but the climbs are broken up by flat stretches. After Pike's Peak it is mostly flat until you reach the summit, but it's also a lot of fun climbs over ledges (reminiscent of Crawford-Ridgepole between Doublehead and Morgan/Percival). Pike's Peak is where the views are, summit is surrounded by trees. We did not find the herd trail that leads to any views. There was a path, but didn't want to go more than a few feet as it may have been the discontinued trail that runs through private property.

Nice open areas of hardwood and some sections of evergreens. Good stick season hike, you can see the surrounding peaks through the leafless trees.
