Comments
Comments: Trail was snow and ice free until the ledges. Ice patches to the top of the ledges. Fairly easy to navigate around in bare boots. At the top of the ledges where the trail goes back into the woods, the ice starts. I'm not sure what blue ice is, but this was flow ice and it was shiny and had a gun metal gray color and was slippery without traction, just like blue ice is I guess. The only time I remember seeing ice that was a blue color was climbing Old Speck in Maine and also in Switzerland. Aside from that, it was a perfect day, with blue skies, mild temps, and not a breath of wind. Fantastic views in all directions.
