We were the 2nd vehicle in the Mt Morgan Lot at around 8:45am. Suprisingly, there were no vehicles in the Rattlesnake lot when we arrived. The Morgan parking lot was full on our return at around 12:15. |

Trails are generally in great shape. There are maybe 2 or 3 blowdowns that need some cleanup in the Spring. Thank you to the trail maintainers. |

3 or 4 pooches, all well-mannered and friendly, just like their owners. |

Partly sunny day on the hills. We opted to take the cliff route up Morgan and down Percival. Still haven't tried the ladders/cave routes; maybe in the summer. Like most of the lower mountains, there was a mix of snow covered trails, or snowless, leaf covered trails in the more sun exposed expanses.
Microspikes were helpful to us, to keep from sliding on the snow/ice in the shaded inclined areas. Although bare-booting or nano-spikes might have been better on the bare rock, wet snow and leaf covered areas. Most of the dozen or so folks we ran into were bare booting.
Always an enjoyable hike to go on and a good tune-up hike with packs, etc for coming winter hikes. Great day in the mountains! |
