| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked in the small lot diagonal across from the trail head. A little bit of hard slush at the road edge and lot was icy but not a problem today. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction, Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All almost 100% ice bridged and easy to cross. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is a blowdown (step over) maybe 1/2 mile up - before the junction with Webster trail. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one happy one, but personally,,,, left mine at home due to anticipated icy conditions. Would have been problematic on the cone for sure trying to balance myself and the dog. |

| Comments: |
Put away the “beater†spikes and take your sharp Hillsounds (maybe even crampons for the summit cone scramble). I would not have been able to ascend or descend the cone safely today with beater spikes or no traction. The entire trail is made up of ice flows with a thin layer of snow, in most places. Easy to manage with sharp spikes. |
