Fun hike, but limited views today since it was snowing most of the morning and cloudy were heavy. But the conditions were very enjoyable - a few inches of snow, probably ranging from 3-5, but with an ice layer underneath. Nearer to the peak, the ice was more prevalent and challenging in a few places where there were short steep sections. Recommended to hike this clockwise so you can go up a steep section rather than down. Wore micro spikes the whole way, and were much needed. Could have used something more substantial for going up a steep section or two, but all in all this gear did the trick. |
