Comments
Comments: Trail was broken up to the shelter. We broke trail from that point on. Used hillsounds the entire day. There was drifting on the flats, before hitting Benton Trail, but it's hiker's choice as to whether or not you'll use them. Barring the drifting, our spikes were still hitting the tops of rocks, so may need just a little more snow for snowshoes. Drifting was knee deep and manageable; trail breaking was about 6" for the majority of the hike. Strong winds and no view at the top. About a half an hour into our descent, sun came out, winds quit, and it was an entirely different day. My son and I had a great day on the trail. Hope this helps.
