Sandwhich Dome, Jennings Peak
Beautiful day after a snowstorm. 4-6" of fresh powder on the trail, we were there early so broke trail all the way to the top. Not deep enough to need snowshoes - spikes were ok most of the time. There was a lot of slick hard ice under the snow, which made it slippery especially on the steep sections. Probably should have worn Hillsounds, I had them in my pack ad just never quite got around to changing my microspikes for them. Great views from Jennings and from the Dome itself. Wonderful day out in the woods with friends and our frolicking dogs. |
