Comments
Comments: Stayed away from ski trails that had snow making in progress. Turnpike and Lower Hardscrabble were natural snow only and have not been open to skiing, though Mad River Glen would have opened them ha ha. 4 to 6 inches of natural snow often wet and sticky and I started at 7 am and freezing rain had just started and encased me in ice by time I made it to the summit. Upper ravine was firm and made for quick snowshoeing. Tagged summit and returned the way I had come up. Good first snowshoe of the season. Now it is snowing like crazy here in franconia.
