No recent traffic over the Baldfaces required me to break shallow snow and deeper drifts throughout. 4-14 in. of snow. I was pleased to find Eastman and Slippery Brook Broken out by a snowshoe. I used snowshoes the entire way; I did abuse them a bit on rocks, but I could see that more drifts were just ahead. I brought crampons and microspikes and would still recommend them, especially if doing this loop in reverse of how I did it. |
