A fine day on the trail. Light flurries all morning. Windy and very chilly on top with low visibility/blowing snow made for easy choice to go out and back on Gorge Brook. Last night's frozen ice pellet event stuck to the flow ice and it was like 60 grit sandpaper--not slippery at all. Trail is well packed and a mix of frozen slush, 60 grit ice, and packed frozen snow. Its pretty fast and smooth for what it could be. Barebooted for a mile or so and then all donned micros or Hillsounds for the duration. |
