Fun day hiking Owl's Head. Lincoln Woods Trail is in great shape - fast and flat with the amount of packed snow on it. All the other trails were in decent enough shape considering the freeze, thaw, freeze we've had over the past week. All water crossings are bridged enough to easily navigate them.
Both bushwhacks are well trodden and easy to follow at this point. Brutus Bushwhack is about as direct as it gets and is very bony in the steep sections.
I saw one hiker doing Owl's Head today and ran into two hikers on their way back from the Bonds as I got back to the parking lot. |
