Lot was full and overflowing into the street at 9:30am. Lot does have a covering of snow, but cars of all types were parking in it, so it’s likely not troublesome. If you need to park in the road, just pay attention to the “no parking†signs on one side of the street. |

What a popular hike today! Must have seen 30 or more people all day. Most people we saw were wearing microspike or Hillsounds out and back, but some seemed to be wearing snowshoes out and back. Glencliff Trail is in excellent condition and well packed. There are some areas where rocks are not fully covered yet, but it wasn’t an issue. Overall, good conditions up to the junction.
The junction with Carriage Road is a great place to change or add layers before getting above treeline - and it was a party there today! The section of Carriage Road between the junction and treeline had a good amount of loose, unpacked powder - could use a few more people wearing snowshoes to really pack it down well.
There were a few exposed icy spots where you will definitely want spikes or Hillsounds - a couple on Glencliff Trail (including some ice that started to get exposed later in the day from people sledding) and above treeline on Carriage Road just below the summit. |
