Comments
Comments: Snowshoes car to car. Same old story with the bareboot postholing, so I won’t rehash that. Wear Snowshoes. Anyways, on the way up I passed a group of three others in snowshoes headed to Middle Sister. The Middle sister cutoff is now tromped down pretty well but still super soft. I continued up to the Chocorua summit on beautifully untouched trail. Piper trail and Middle sister trail were also untouched and remain that way as of 1pm today. I did not see any sign of tracks to the summit from the Liberty trail side, either, so that may be unbroken as well. I wore snowshoes across the ledges to the summit but I would recommend switching to beater spikes for the trek above treeline …the only significant snow up there is in the few hundred yards before the summit scramble.
