Comments
Comments: From vehicle, followed snomo corridor 156 for 0.5 mile. Turned left on logging road for only a couple of minutes. Then headed directly to summit of NW peak, skirting steep spots. Recognized summit easily found. Headed SE directly for Cilley, crossing corridor 156 at 1740'. For the next .25 mile we appeared to traverse a wettish area where the woods got scratchy. Trees on Cilley summit were laden with snow. Fortunately summit bottle is wrapped in red tape making it more easily visible. Headed NNE to Grandview, reaching the Mt. Cilley road at 1800'. Last .25 mile of bw before hitting Mt. Cilley Rd took us through thicker young softwoods that would be sprucy and more difficult to cross in deep snow. At this point, Mt. Cilley Rd is snomoed but not groomed. Easy bw NE to recognized summit of Grandview. Followed our tracks back to the road. Turned W on the road and soon hit the groomed corridor 156 at its 90-degree turn N. Followed corridor 156 back to vehicle.
Breaking conditions - superb - 1"-5" powder on a supportive base
Grades - all easy
Woods - wide open hard woods, except for the 2 areas mentioned above
