Comments
Comments: The objectives were 1. See how much/if any any leg strength/stamina I have left and 2. Get some needed exercise. Slogging through the roughly 2 feet of unconsolidated powder on Kancamagus seemed a good destination for these objectives. And indeed it was. I had enough legs to get up to the ridge at a roughly 1/3 mph pace. Bushwhacking is slow business in the typical NH upland woods anyway but this is roughly 1/2 the pace most 'whackers would expect. I hit the ridge to the West of the bump - my goal was to hit the ridge to the East of the bump. The woods and terrain coupled with my tendancy to walk up the fall line kept pushing me West of my desired line. I realized there that I could not summit before my turn around time so turned around. Objective 2 was met in spades.
