I will echo the last trail report. Lots of people out today doing these trails. The trail was well packed, but not consolidated. As a result, snowshoes were the better choice today - for the most part - but many were using micros or trail crampons. The steep ascent/descent of East Osceola is a bit shredded, but the rest of the trails remain in good shape. For my part, I elected to use snowshoes round trip until descending East Osceola, at which point I switched to trail crampons. The snow was simply too loose/unconsolidated on the steep trail for my snowshoes (Tubbs Flex VRT) to get a solid purchase. |
