Trail Maintenance Notes: Black Pond Bushwhack is not well routed. Whoever set the winter route set a meandering track. The Owls Head slide is not broken out so the winter route/Brutus is the only broken trail up and down from the summit

Comments
Comments: GPS registered 16 miles total from Lincoln Woods parking lot using the Black Pond bushwhack and Brutus winter route.
Snow shoes not needed but would help and better than microspikes on the steep Brutus climb up from the last water crossing. A few knee deep drifts along the ridge to reach the truer summit if you step off the packed path.
