Found the trail as expected, with a solid base, but because it was snowing, there was a couple inches of fresh powder on top of it. I was disappointed in the steps and footprints in the steep section going up North Hancock. Wish folks had worn snowshoes a bit more before going to spikes and leaving it all chewed up. I did my best to keep it in good shape by wearing snowshoes from the bottom of North all the way around the loop and back to the car. Just didn't want to take the time to stow them and honestly the trail could use a bit more grooming so I figured....Why not! Didn't see any other hikers which was fine with me. A super morning hike before work in the beauty of the new snow. |
