||Rattlesnake Mountain Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Tuesday, January 25, 2022|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Not plowed, but packed out. Room for maybe two vehicles. Overflow mini-lot is not plowed. No roadside parking allowed. |
||Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
|Water Crossing Notes:
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||A stepover, a duck under (vexing with growing snowpack), and a widowmaker. |
|Lost and Found:
||Close to an inch of new snow fell overnight. Trail is still very soft, particularly the summit loop. Unfortunately, some people chose to Microspike, leaving a bunch of postholes up high (self-serving action similar to peeing on the toilet seat). I fixed what I could with my snowshoes.|
Temperatures hovered around freezing this afternoon as clouds lingered. Brief, but decent sunset from the summit ledges.
