No summits today, just some leisurely snowshoeing in Pillsbury State Park. Snowmobiles were out on the main park roads, but they are still soft and nowhere near ready for spikes or bare boots. I went up Balance Rock Trail for a short distance, breaking through about a foot of new snow. I then bushwhacked over to Five Summers Trail, where snow depths off-trail were 1-2 ft. From there, I walked back to the gate.
Pretty chilly day with the wind, but nice to have some fresh snow! |
