The road crews do a fantastic job keeping the side of the Kanc nice and clear. We were able to easily park off to the side without concern we would get stuck. |

All water crossings in great shape. Some are frozen completely while others are easily passable. |

No pups on trail today but the trail was good for pups. |

The teal goat noted a pink water bottle at the trail head at the base of the sign from Friday, which is still there. |

So...someone misbehaved and didn't wear snowshoes when they recently hiked this trail. Tsk tsk tsk! Very messy and dangerous for others because of this. About a mile from the summit of North Tri it was the worst. Thankfully they didn't travel to Middle...probably because it must have been hell for them. Between North and Middle it was beautiful snowshoe travel.
Take note there's a section on the way up to North Tri where the tracks fork left and right - I recommend going to the right here by a huge fallen tree which seems to be literally on the trail. It will rejoin the yellow blazed trail a little ways up. Keep your eyes open for the blazes and you'll be fine.
It's definitely snowshoe season...this is why we save all our pennies to buy them, so use them please! You'll have a much more enjoyable hike too!!
