Huge thanks to Dave and Fuzz for breaking trail in front of us. With the two of us, a total of 4 sets of snow shoes packed out Valley Way today but the trail is still very soft and not ready for spikes. First 100 feet of gain on Osgood was soft, then it was almost virtually free of snow til just before the summit ridge. Above 4900 feet there was boiler plate ice and rock and sharp microspikes are necessary. A great day indeed and another peak for Suzanne post total knee replacement. |
