Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The few water crossings were very minor and easily crossed by rock hopping. The bridge on the connector trail is missing one of the two floor planks and the hand rail but you can easily walk it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Squam Lake Trail Association has done a lot of work recently removing blow downs and clearing drainage ditches. The Mount Morgan Trail was in great condition but it looks like there was some erosion along the Mount Percival Trail. There were a couple of small trees that had fallen that you could easily step over (didn't have my pack saw with me).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any dogs on the trail but think the ladder on the Morgan Trail and the scrambling and caves along the Percival Trail would be difficult for dogs. There are ways to avoid both routes and do the entire loop without them.
Bugs
Bugs: There were no bugs.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Didn't lose anything, didn't find anything.

Comments
Comments: Did the loop clockwise. The ladder and the cave below the summit of Morgan were easily handled. The trail along the ridge had some slippery sections of ledge but they too were easily handled. The descent from Percival and through the caves provided a nice change of pace.
