First the important : Thank you Nancy and Charlie, Linda and Al for s superb day! Always fun to hike with Royalty.
The 5 of us wore snowshoes from the last stream crossing, the one where the real climbing starts, to the summit. Bare booted to that place on a firm trench. The trench was drifted in on the ridge which required some trail break work. I was useless, the others did the work. Thank you. So there is a nice smooth trench for the rain/warm weather to prepare for the following cold to consolidate into a sidewalk. The uncertainty is how much heavy, wet snow will fall on top. I hope for the best.
No recent tracks South on Carter/Moriah trail from the col. Tracks to Moriah summit from Bangor Street. Hard to tell with the drifting but it looked like postholers tracks. |
