Comments
Comments: I didn't know what to expect here but did know enough to put SNOWSHOES on at the car. What I found were the makings of a very fine SNOWSHOE track as the trail was broken out yesterday but still soft and somewhat unconsolidated. Kudos to the folks who wore SNOWSHOES yesterday and did the tough work - so I viewed my effort as a packing exercise with SNOWSHOES versus trail breaking. Once past the first viewpoint it seemed the trail was a bit less consolidated - I'm guessing someone made it to that point with SNOWSHOES yesterday and turned around. I flattened out the rest up to the summit and turned around packing it further, which was only possible because I was wearing SNOWSHOES. Shortly after descending two others wearing SNOWSHOES were coming up and once I passed them I was really enjoying this excellent SNOWSHOE track. However, my joy was short lived as another pair coming up apparently thought that a mere 36 hours after getting over a foot of new snow that SNOWSHOES were not a good idea (evidenced by not even bringing them) and decided to trash the trail with +/- 6" pockmarks at every step along with some 1' postholes scattered about. Even when passing me one sank to the knees due to the lack of SNOWSHOES. Further down I encountered one other wearing SNOWSHOES and one not. This could have been really nice SNOWSHOE track but how it looks now is anybody's guess.

Other than the bumpy descent it was a quiet day here. Nice views at the ledges and of course at the top. I had the summit to myself where there was just a little wind.

Bring SNOWSHOES. Wear SNOWSHOES. Thank you.
