 | Comments: |
Despite snowmobile traffic on Old Mountain Road and hiker traffic on Crawford Ridgepole, Friday's snow is still very soft. Snowshoes are were still needed this morning with temperatures in the upper single digits and will be even more needed for flotation this week when temperatures are forecast to get above freezing.
Someone had snowmobiled up and over Old Mountain Road, but it is still soft. Some Boston Barebooters/Massachusetts Microspikers were still sinking in where they walked on the tracks.
Crawford Ridgepole snowpack is 2 to 3 feet deep in places and very soft. I cleaned up some of the postholes. Very frustrating to break out a trail on Friday, only to return and see it trashed by barebooters/Microspikers. |
