You need snow shoes. I didn’t, but learned a ton and almost turned around at the ladder. The last 3/4 of a mile to the summit was fresh powder. It was about 1.5 - 2FT. I blazed the trail early in the AM and should be okay now as there were a lot of hikers as I was leaving. The ladder was totally covered with snow. I would’ve never made it up without my ice axe. I wish I knew about this site prior to my hike. I met a lot of awesome people up there that went from the Tom direction.
