Lots of traffic as far as the Attitash Mountain. Someone went up north Moat and along the ridge to Red Ridge junction (then tracks turned down Red Ridge) without snowshoes, post-holing on nearly every step and leaving the trail in deplorable condition. The very deep posthole went in before the trail was even fully broken out and then froze that way. Some of the worst conditions I've ever seen. It could be a while before anyone is able to enjoy this section of trail as the deep portholes are 'fossilized.'
From the Red Ridge junction to South Moat, one snowshoer had been out and back to north moat from the south. The track was frozen. South moat down was heavily traveled. |
