Great snowshoeing conditions today, ‘dust on crust’ with a very supportive surface melt-freeze layer. I crossed the ice on Upper Hall Pond and from the far southern end of the pond, bushwhacked up a narrow gully which allows access to East Weetamoo’s summit area. Lots of moose activity starting at the 2200ft level; views were mostly blocked by the passing squalls but still a good day to be out. |
