Comments
Comments: A dusting of new snow down low, quickly increasing to an inch, and perhaps closer to two inches up high. Some places blown down to crust, others drifting to half a foot. Underlying base (a foot plus or minus) has a frozen granular crust which is generally supportive for snowshoes and skis, but not bareboots (please don't boot up ski trails). Fortunately there has been no recent barebooting, so the ski trails do look somewhat skiable (albeit chattery). The previous snowcat tracks smoothed out from the thaw.

From the top of the double chairlift, I bushwhacked over toward more of the eastern side of the clearcut, where I can across some tracks and cairns. Not sure where this comes up from, but the tracks when to the highest point of the clearcut (but not technically the highpoint, which is on the edge of the clearcut). I then bushwhacked to the herd path to the communication tower.

Nice afternoon weather with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the 20s. A few folks skiing, but otherwise very quiet.
