Comments
Comments: We hiked up to the Welch Mountain Ledge. Trail solid, well packed, somewhat icy in spots. Used micro spikes. Windy cold on both, only stayed a short time on both. It was warm with temperatures in the upper 30’s under overcast skies. We had impressive views of the Mad River and NH 49 winding through the valley, a great view of Mt. Tripyramid’s three summits and across the was the great bulk of Sandwich Dome including next week’s hike, Jennings Peak! Tonight’s rain/ice & warmer temps may change these conditions for tomorrow. Snow forecasted Friday so most likely snowshoes needed for upcoming weekend.
