 | Comments: |
April conditions this afternoon, but full snowpack remains even after the rain and warm weather. Bootpacked portion up to the first viewpoint was still fairly firm with snow soft blue ice stretches. Patchy monorail in a few places, including above the first viewpoint. Occasional areas of slush and running water. Some exposed rock/ledge near the viewpoints. Other areas were soft, including the loop.
Snowshoes were ideal this afternoon in the warm weather. Spikes may be adequate tomorrow before the snow. |
