Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings were bridged but showing some signs of wear. The first crossing looked like someone might have gotten a little wet.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in pretty good shape. One blowdown coming down OBP that is a straddle over, and another in trail that people have been walking around. I still think Greenleaf Trail could use a large cairn at that sharp turn a little below the summit (near the rock bulge). Sounded like a few people in front of us today might have wandered off to the right a bit before they checked their app and got back on track. Easy to miss in poor visibility.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one heading up to Lafayette, seemed pretty happy.

Comments
Comments: Fun day out there guiding a guest for Redline. The snow flurries that weren't supposed to accumulate yesterday evening definitely did. Probably 5 inches of powder down low and some decent drifts up top. We wore snowshoes up to Little Haystack, spikes across the ridge and down to the hut. Snowshoes back down OBP (in reality we could have put them on above the hut once we hit the krummholz). Might want to wear your rockspikes its pretty windblown up top where it isn't drifted. Tough call though as there are a few icy spots and then the drifts. Just no easy one size fits all approach. Beautiful day down low but the ridgeline never made it out of the clouds. We got snowed on, blown on, garbage visibility, all the good stuff. **Stay to the left on the first snowbridge, it looked like someone went through on the far side of the crossing.
