Went up Doublehead ski trail, down old path to jct, back up old path, and down new path! Super great day out there with great conditions. snow is loose powder, so snowshoes for sure. Only in enjoyable stretch was going down the top section of new path… Steep + sheer ice underneath the snow. We switched to spikes because neither spikes nor snowshoe crampons were doing anything for traction and the length of the snowshoes were just a liability for the inevitable falling. Bottom part of the trail returned our enjoyment levels back up! Beautiful day & beautiful views |
