Comments
Comments: So we went up Hedgehog on Weds for sunset, we met a pair of nice hikers getting back, and were advised that snowshoes were appropriate (it was nice to meet you!). Wednesday we did the loop counter-clockwise and had some significant patches of bare ice that we had to slide down on our butts. My friend lost her inreach smackdab in the middle of the hike, but neither of us noticed until the next day. So yesterday, with a couple inches of fresh snow, back up we went. This time clockwise, because it had been broken out by a hiker ahead of us (thank you). The recent snow actually stuck to the ice making those bare ice patches almost nonexistent. Amazingly we actually recovered her inreach!! Snowshoes are best, lots of drifts and blowing snow. Trail is in good shape. My dog had a blast both days.
