Comments
Comments: Fun day on the Moose with Eric, Lauren, and Mr Brooks. Surprised when we showed up to find 5-6 inches of fresh snow (it didn't snow in Lincoln last night). Eric led and broke trail the whole way, even with that generous gift it was still a challenge to keep up with him, as always. We wore snowshoes door to door, although once out of the trees the final push to the summit is wind blown and rocky, just too much of a pain to swap out traction on a cold day for less than .1 of a mile. The typical treeline snowdrift was probably as tall as Eric. Great day though, as the clouds never materialized and we were rewarded with a nice trek through fresh powder, snow covered trees, and the usual 360 degree show. The 4 of us laid down a good track, everyone else was in spikes, the snow is soft though, snowshoes are still the right tool for the job if you want to make it easier on yourselves.
