Comments
Comments: For backcountry skiers, Tenney's slopes are in probably the best shape of the winter. Firm base underneath 8-10 inches of powder, thanks to the small overnight snowfalls this week. Actual powder too, with the exception of a few lower areas near the triple chair where the sun had warmed it up a little.

Some tracked equipment traffic weaving its way up the double chair. Otherwise, the trails are generally untracked, though obstacles remain such as brush and open waterbars in places. Ran into Mike @ Tenney, who has moved the snowcat back up to the base area and may take a few passes this evening.

From the top of the double chair, I poached some fresh snowshoe tracks to the summit (thank you!). Direct route, but it does go through some of the puckerbrush at the summit clear cut. For the return trip, I did the short bushwhack through open woods (some deeper drifts; underlying crust is supportive) to the herd path to the communications tower, then followed the tracked vehicle tracks back to the top of the double chair.
